Built for Real Workers.
Not Headlines.
Where this came from, what it’s trying to do, and why it approaches AI and work the way it does.
This project was built independently by one person, – Donald DeGagne living in Playa del Coco, Costa Rica — a retired senior manager with 30+ years of experience running large organizations, teams, and complex public-facing operations. No venture capital. No corporate agenda. No algorithm deciding what you want to hear. Just a practical tool built from scratch by someone who believes most workers are more adaptable than they’re given credit for.
The Public Conversation About AI Isn’t Working
If you’ve been paying attention to how AI and jobs gets discussed in the media, you’ve probably noticed it tends to go one of two ways — panic about everything being replaced, or breathless enthusiasm about AI solving every problem. Neither version is particularly useful if you’re just trying to understand what it means for your specific work.
Most ordinary workers — contractors, healthcare professionals, administrative staff, salespeople, public servants, and creative professionals — are caught in the middle of that noise with very little that’s genuinely practical.
What This Assessment Actually Believes
The core principles behind every report:
- AI affects specific tasks, not whole jobs — and those tasks vary enormously by person
- Task exposure and human strengths are assessed and reported independently
- Low technology comfort is never treated negatively — it’s a starting point
- Strong people skills don’t cancel out real task pressure — both are reported clearly
- Practical guidance matters more than predictions
- The goal is calm clarity, not engagement through anxiety
What every report avoids:
- Catastrophic or doom-based language
- Rigid “safe job” or “unsafe job” labels
- Exaggerated automation claims
- Deterministic predictions about specific career outcomes
- Generic advice that ignores your actual situation
- Upselling to courses, coaching, or products
Sophisticated Underneath.
Simple on the Surface.
The assessment takes 5 to 7 minutes to complete and covers three areas: the specific tasks that make up your daily work, your human-centered strengths, and your current relationship with workplace technology. Every answer feeds into a scoring system that was built from scratch — not adapted from a generic template.
Most AI job-risk tools assess exposure based on job titles. This one looks at what you actually do — the tasks, communication, coordination, judgment, documentation, problem-solving, and human interaction that make up your real working day. That distinction is what makes each report genuinely specific to the individual.
Each report covers:
- An estimated AI task exposure range — assessed from your actual task scores, not your job title
- An independent assessment of your human-centered adaptation strengths
- A clear explanation of what those numbers mean for your specific role and context
- Practical, realistic suggestions grounded in your own strengths and situation
- A professionally formatted PDF report delivered by email
The AI system generates the language of each report. The human-developed prompt architecture — built and refined through months of research and real-world testing — determines what the report says, how it’s framed, and what it prioritizes.
One Person. A Genuine Reason to Build This.
30+ years in operations, workforce management
& public-facing organizational leadership
Now based in Costa Rica
This project wasn’t built by a technology company, a consulting firm, or a venture-backed startup. It was built independently by one person — a retired senior manager with more than 30 years of experience running large organizations, teams, and complex public-facing operations.
After retiring to Costa Rica, the growing noise around AI and jobs became increasingly hard to ignore — not because of personal anxiety, but because of what was clearly missing from the conversation: something genuinely useful for ordinary workers trying to understand what it all means for them.
What followed was months of research, testing, and careful development. The question architecture, scoring logic, report structure, and prompt system that generates every personalized report were all built from scratch and tested against real-world profiles across a wide range of occupations.
No venture capital. No corporate agenda. No algorithm deciding what people want to hear.
Active Beta — Improving With Every Submission
This project is currently in paid beta. Real-world submissions from a range of occupations continue to refine the assessment and improve report quality. The diversity of profiles that have been tested — from clinical dietitians and contractors to account managers, law enforcement, and IT program managers — has meaningfully shaped how the system interprets and responds to different work situations.
During this beta phase, every report goes through a manual quality review before delivery. Estimated turnaround is 1 to 4 hours — though timing may vary depending on when your submission arrives. You will receive your completed report by email as a downloadable PDF.
Your feedback after receiving the report directly shapes how the system continues to improve.
